Sklafaris House is situated in the middle of Asomatos village, which is famous for the production of pottery and the museum of papa Michalis Georgoulakis.  Asomatos is located in the south part of Rethymno Prefecture, at the end of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and only 5 km away from the Libyan sea.

Asomatos is not far away from Preveli monastery and Plakias village, surrounded by beautiful traditional villages, such as Frati, Mirthios, Lefkogia, etc. Asomatos suburb location is ideal for amazing driving explorations, trekking, swimming, scuba diving, etc.

Sklafaris house is a two storey building, it was built according to the traditional Cretan construction methods and renovated in 2006. As a part of a larger building structure which was built in 1900, was divided into three separate houses in 1960s. The renovation that was taken place kept the characteristics of the old house with the thick walls and with the addition of the double-glazing managed to keep the temperature always pleasant and the atmosphere always comfortable.
